Dive Cozumel Boats

Cozumel Diving FAQ

If you are 10 years old and up, you sure can! We have an experience called PADI Discover Scuba Diving.
You will have a patient and experienced PADI instructor briefing you on the rules of diving safely, he will get you familiar with the scuba gear and will go over a few easy skills and make sure you are comfortable underwater.
You have the options of doing one shore dive which takes half a day and can be done in the morning or afternoon.
You can also join the boat divers and dive 2 different dive sites, this program starts at 7am and ends around 3pm.

This is the best option for people who want to make sure they are comfortable scuba diving before commiting to a full certification course.

The philosophy of valet service is straightforward: ensure that scuba diving adventures are as hassle-free, stress-free and enjoyable as possible.

Weather conditions are rarely an issue in choosing dive sites. It mostly depends on what the other divers want to do and where they may have already been.
We try our best to get our guests where they want to go diving.

Yes! We have premixed 32% and 36% in tanks of 80cf and 100cf. Ask us in advance for more exotic mixes.

Oh yes we do! Night dives in Cozumel are simply spectacular!
For a better experience, try the sunset & night dives. You get to see the reefs winding down leaving the night critters slowly take over before darkness falls.
We do not go out from the boat every night so make sure to check the schedule with us in advance so you don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity!
Single night dives can be done from a boat, 4 divers are needed for this trip.
We have night dives from the shore every night, no minimum divers needed.

Water temperatures range between 77°F and 80°F from November to April and 80°F to 86°F from May to October.
Wetsuit thickness is determined by your tolerance to these temperatures. Many divers prefer to wear one for the second dive.
Keep in mind that if you’ll be doing multiple dives over multiple days, you will probably become less tolerant of cold as the week progresses.
Diving in Cozumel with a 3mm wetsuit is pretty much the norm.

All of our dives are tailored to meet the wishes and objectives of our divers.
Typical dives with us are usually shallow, around 40-60 feet to maximize bottom times, keep well within no-decompression limits, see more marine life and have better light for photos and videos.
For divers who whish to go deeper, we have a maximum depth of 130 feet.
We can go down to technical depths if you are tech certified.

A refresher is not mandatory but strongly suggested if you are having doubts in your abilities.
You will definitely benefit from extra attention and advice from our PADI instructor.
You may want to consider booking a private guide if you are unsure of your comfort level.

We have a wide variety of dive boat options to meet your needs.
All boats have the required safety equipment, comfortable shaded seating areas, safe and easy access to the water.
If you prefer a more intimate experience, we have a wide variety of dive boats and catamarans for private charters at very reasonable prices.

We use a fleet of boats of all sizes and speed.
Our standard boat can accommodate 12 divers very comfortably with dry areas, toilet facilities, many shaded areas, a relaxing sun deck and an easy platform & ladder for a safe and easy entry and exit.
We have boats than can accommodate up to 20 divers.
However the size of the boat does not change the fact that our dive groups have no more than 4 divers (unless the group is a family or predetermined group, then the maximum is 6 divers per guide).
Our guides are experts at avoiding the traffic areas on the reef.
If you prefer a more intimate experience, we have a wide variety of dive boats and catamarans for private charters at very reasonable prices.

All boat dives in Cozumel are drift dives.
The current is usually very mild, 1 or 2 knots, perfect for long relaxing dives.
It is strongly advised to carry a bright surface marker and a whistle on all your Cozumel dives.
Shore dives usually have very little current.

Sunscreen damages the reef and the marine life.
We strongly discourage the use of sunscreen.
Alternatives to sunscreen are to wear a rash guard, cotton clothing that covers sensitive parts, a hat and sunglasses.
The boats we use have plenty of shaded areas where it’s easy to avoid the sun.
The Cozumel Marine Park Rules require biodegradable and reef safe sunscreen, if you absolutely feel the need to use sunscreen, apply it hours before entering the water to minimize its negative impact.
Applying sunscreen just before entering the water is prohibited.

Absolutely! If there is space and they are old enough to take care of themselves, they can join you on the boat, the price is $60 per non-diving passenger.
Snorkel gear is included as well as the other boat amenities available to our divers, please warn us in advance if you need a snorkel guide at extra cost.

For online reservations, we ask for a 20% deposit to be paid by credit card or Paypal.
The balance must be paid in CASH at the end of your dive trip. If you prefer Credit Cards or PayPal an 18% fee will be applied.
We accept Mexican Pesos, American Dollars, Canadian Dollars, British Pounds and Euros. We use the daily exchange rate on the island.
Credit Card business in Mexico now, is extremely difficult with many delayed fraud alerts, rise of denials of payment and high processing fees & exchange rates.
For these reasons, your safety and ours, WE REQUIRE PAYMENTS IN CASH for the payment of the balance at the end of your trip. If you prefer Credit Cards or Paypal, an 18% fee will be applied.
You can safely withdraw US Dollars and Mexican Pesos at most major bank branches downtown. NEVER EVER USE the street and store no-name ATM’s (this tip applies to all countries, even the USA).

Tips are not required but they are very appreciated! Tips are for a great service.
In Cozumel, it’s customary to tip the boat crew and the divemaster/instructor/guide separately.
On average, the crew gets 5-10% and the dive professional gets 10-15% of the total cost.
A good rule of thumb, on average, boat crew gets 5-10$ and up and the dive professional 10-20$ and up per diver per trip.
You can tip at the end of every dive day or at the end of your dive vacation, up to you. Again tips are not required but very much appreciated.
If the crew or the dive professional went above and beyond to make sure you had the best time and made you a better diver, the average can go up.
Again, tipping is optional, give what you feel is right.
