This PADI Specialty course consists of two main phases:
1. Knowledge development sessions to discuss navigation techniques and environment.
2. Three shore navigation dives to practice techniques learned to always know where you are and where you’re going.
You’ll learn the tools of the trade, including navigation using natural clues and by following compass headings.
During the 3 training navigation shore dives, you will practice:
Methods to estimate distance underwater.
Using visual references to navigate with little help from your compass.
Compass navigation while making at least five turns.
Marking or relocating a submerged object or position from the surface.
Underwater map making.
Using pre-dive observations to navigate better.
